Welcome to SPACE BUFFALO RODEO! If you're new around here, let me give you a quick rundown on this little project of mine.

SPACE BUFFALO RODEO is a 2D side-scrolling endless shooter, where the goal is to achieve the highest score you can.

I made this game around April of 2021 as a personal challenge to myself. At the time, I only had one game released, but I was sitting on DOZENS of game prototypes that I had made throughout the years. So I sat down and challenged myself to quickly create and release something, and this game was the result. The programming was done by me, while the art was done by my partner. We crunched this game out after roughly 3 days of work, and were both happy with the final state of the game.

But if I was happy with it, why would I suddenly update the game?

I am currently working on a video for my YouTube channel where I go back to all 6 of my released games and give them a content update. The first game I chose to do was this game, so let's see what's new!

Version 1.1 Changelog:

• Completely remade the main menu, with new text and animations
• Added a high score system, where the top score is saved, even between game sessions
• Completely overhauled the spawning and difficulty system
• Changed the music, as there were unexpected issues with copyright
• Changed enemy damage to a fixed value, making it easier for the players to know when they are close to death
• Changed the look of the health bar UI
• Adjusted the particles for the buffalo's rockets, it is now easier to tell their current direction
• Retitled the game. The old title contained a word that was not very search-friendly, so after a lot of thinking, I decided to go ahead with renaming the game.

And that's all for this update! This very well be the last update this game ever sees (unless there are bugs to be fixed!), and I can say for certain that I am leaving this project in a form that I am content with.
